PropinvestaPayne Street is a bespoke three storey multi-residential apartment building in the leafy streets of Glen Iris. The Payne Street façade playfully balances strong horizontal planes with more delicate façade elements. On ground floor three round columns accented in copper are used to create tension in form that is replicated above with a horizontal concrete plane perched delicately on a glazed band. Rounded edges to the concrete and glazing as well as the incorporation of vegetation in planter boxes help soften the buildings presence to the street.
The blending of internal and external helps ground the users experience back to nature facilitated by immense walls of glazing retracting, opening the living space to the elements. This is complimented by a ready emphasis on environmentally sustainable design initiatives throughout the project. Soft coloured materials are used in the interior colour palette to work symbiotically with the light filled internal spaces.
