Evangelical Christian ChurchA contemporary expression of ecclesiastical form, the design of McKinnon Church was aimed at both redefining the existing Church’s general street presence whilst modernising the congregations’ facilities.
The prominent cross on the façade, the central feature of the design takes the crucifix typically used in church ornamentation and casts this as a structural element of the façade. Precast panels are used to enclose the structure, offset to allow in light. These panels increase in height, helping to retain visual focus to the front of the space. Wood has been used to soften the internal look and feel and provides a ready juxtaposition to the strict industrial materials used externally.
